ARMANDO GARCÍA

Guajako has its origins in 1850. He dedicated his entire life to the field and maguey, planting and cultivating his own land, and later founded his first palenque in San Carlos Yautepec, which was a trigger for the entire mezcal production chain.

RAMÓN RUÍZ

He continues with the tradition, strengthening even more the knowledge of maguey and mezcal, generating employment in the community, and teaching matters daughter Domitila Ruiz, who later married Don Servando Parada (an exemplary and kind man), together since their youth were dedicated to the field and especially the maguey, planting even more in San Carlos Yautepec and San Francisco Guichina.

SERVANDO PARADA

He focuses on loving and caring for the fertility of the land, planting around various plots of land with fruit trees, and within the maguey crops leaving enough space so that the families of the towns could plant corn, beans and squash for consumption and sale. This same action unknowingly helped the maguey trees to generate more sugars and grow larger.

RAÚL PARADA

Raul Parada Ruiz and his wife Marina Rios, continued with the tradition, founding their own palenque, which they work every day as well as the maguey, generating jobs and supporting the local economy. After a few years along with their daughter Tania Parada, they founded their own packing and marketing company, to later create Guajako, a brand that will begin its history in 2020.

TANIA PARADA

After a few years with his daughter Tania Parada, they founded their packaging and marketing company, to later jointly create Guajako, a brand that begins its history in 2022.

GEOGRAPhY

San Carlos Yautepec is located in the Sierra Sur Region, Yautepec District. Due to its large territorial extension, it has borders with numerous municipalities. Its territorial extension is 2,491.68 km², which represents 2.6% of the total extension of Oaxaca. It is considered one of the best geographical zones in the state of Oaxaca for growing maguey espadín. Dry climate, steep and rocky soils, abundant rivers and springs, altitude approximately 1,000 masl. This allows for excellent development of the maguey, achieving an extraordinary yield in sugars. As a result of the geographical factors, 100% artisanal and manual work, we offer an exceptional Mezcal with an exquisite flavor.
